LLB Law with Politics

Course Overview

The LLB Law with Politics at Edge Hill University gives an excellent introduction to English law, while also letting you study important topics in politics such as international law and modern US politics. This course is a qualifying law degree. That means it meets the academic requirements if you want to become a barrister, and it also helps you if you want to qualify as a solicitor.

You will learn in a friendly and supportive environment from teachers who have real experience in law and politics. The course includes many practical activities to help you build your skills. You will have the chance to practise in a real courtroom setting (called a Moot Court), give legal advice through the Law Clinic, and take part in crime scene simulations in the 'Crime House'.

As a student, you will also benefit from work placements, careers events, guest speakers, and trips to courts and political institutions. You can also join student societies and competitions. Studying LLB Law with Politics at Edge Hill University helps you prepare for a future career in law, politics, or other similar areas.

About University

Edge Hill University was founded in 1885 as Edge Hill College. It was the first teacher training college in England for women that was not connected to any religion. At first, it was located in the Edge Hill area of Liverpool, but it later moved to its current main campus in Ormskirk.

Edge Hill University has developed a lot over the years. In 1959, it began to admit male students and added more courses outside of teacher training. In 1989, it became an independent higher education institution, and in 2006, it officially became a full university with the name Edge Hill University. Because of its long history, the university is well respected, especially for its teacher training programmes.

Today, Edge Hill University is known for offering high-quality teaching and preparing students for their future careers. The university has three main academic areas: the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
