Course Overview

The MSc in Thermal Power and Propulsion - Gas Turbine Technology option at Cranfield University is a one-year full-time master’s course. It focuses on teaching students about gas turbines and how they work in aircraft and the power industry. The course gives students a solid understanding of propulsion systems, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Students also learn about engine design and performance.

The Thermal Power and Propulsion MSc is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). This course is ideal for people with an engineering background who want to work in gas turbine technology or propulsion systems.

Students are assessed using coursework, group assignments, and exams. The final project is an individual research report.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

Grade Requirements:

A UK lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate degree with honours as a minimum, or equivalent international qualification in engineering, physics, mathematics or applied science discipline.

English Proficiency:

An IELTS score of  6.5 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each skill. Other accepted English tests include TOEFL and PTE

Cost of Study

In 2025/26, the annual tuition fee for the MSc in Thermal Power and Propulsion - Gas Turbine Technology option at Cranfield University is £13,960 for international students.
