MSc Forensic Psychology

The MSc Forensic Psychology course at Coventry University is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which is the first stage to fulfilling the requirements of becoming a chartered psychologist. The programme prepares students for a solid foundation in the core theories and professional skills needed for forensic psychology practice.

The course equips students for work in the criminal justice system by applying psychological principles, from investigation and rehabilitation to punishment. Students will learn from industry experts and professionals in external organisations.

Grade Requirements:

• Candidates need a 2:2 or above undergraduate degree in psychology.
• Undergraduate degrees in Science or Social Sciences may be accepted, if they include 50% of psychology modules with evidence of students in research.
• International qualifications equivalent to an undergraduate degree in psychology may be accepted.

English Proficiency:

• Candidates need an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS Academic test, with no score below 5.5.
• Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT are accepted, amongst others.

The tuition fee for the MSc Forensic Psychology at Coventry University for international students is £18,600, which is subject to change yearly.

Coventry University has some scholarships for international postgraduate students including, the Vice-Chancellor Postgraduate Scholarship, which gives students £2,500 off their tuition fees if they start in November 2025, January 2026, or March 2026 - it is open to all international students except those from the EU or UK, and they do not need to apply separately, the university will check if they are eligible when they accept their offer.

The Alumni Discount gives a 25% discount on course fees for students who have graduated from Coventry University, which is automatic. EU students might be eligible for the EU Support Bursary, which brings their tuition fees down to the same rate as UK students, and it is applied automatically. Finally, the Sports Scholarships give them £1,500 or £3,000, with extra support, but they need to apply for this one separately, and it is only for students starting in September 2025.
