MSc Speech and Language Therapy

Course Overview

The MSc Speech and Language Therapy is a two-year, full-time programme based in Medway, designed to prepare students for registration as speech and language therapists. The initial year focuses on building foundational knowledge and clinical skills, while the second year integrates extensive clinical placements with the development of advanced research abilities.

This course employs varied teaching methods, including lectures and seminars that promote active participation and the application of knowledge to real-life situations. Assessment methods differ by module, involving examinations, written work (essays and portfolios), and presentations. Successfully passing all clinical placements is also essential for qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

You need to submit a personal statement in which you discuss your reasons for applying to the course and provide other relevant information about your studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. You have the option to upload your CV to show your work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Applicants typically need an undergraduate degree in a related field at a 2:1 honours level or above. 
  • Candidates must also pass criminal conviction and disclosure checks, along with health clearance procedures, including Occupational Health Clearance and evidence of up-to-date vaccinations. 
  • A successful interview is a mandatory part of the application process.

English Proficiency:

  • If English is not your first language, you need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in any individual component, or providing equivalent recognised English language test scores like PTE or TOEFL.

Cost of Study

For full-time study on the MSc Speech and Language Therapy programme, the tuition fee for international students is £15,500.
