BM BS Medicine

The Canterbury Christ Church University BM BS Medicine is a five-year medical degree awarded jointly by Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Kent. The programme strongly emphasises applying theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, featuring extensive placements in various medical settings. Students learn effectively in small groups, with access to contemporary anatomy suites that use both cadavers and digital technology.

Learning also involves individual patient studies, where patient educators provide valuable feedback to students. Throughout the course, students develop crucial skills in leadership, management, and teamwork, learning alongside peers from different year groups and programmes. Assessment methods include knowledge evaluations, practical examinations (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations - OSCEs), and the maintenance of an e-Portfolio to document professional growth.

Applicants need to submit a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

• Applicants need A-Level (AAB), which must include either Chemistry or Biology, and one other from Physics, Mathematics, Psychology, or Computer Science. You can also submit a BTEC or International Baccalaureate Diploma.
• Other international qualifications equivalent to A-level are also accepted

English Proficiency: 

• Students whose official language is not English are required to submit an IELTS overall score of 7.0, with no component scoring below 6.5. 
• Other equivalent English language test scores, like TOEFL and PTE, are also accepted.

The annual tuition fee for international students taking the Canterbury Christ Church University BM BS Medicine is £49,700 per year.
