Course Overview

Birmingham City University MSc Applied Child Psychology is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time Master’s programme which offers thorough, practical study of child development that is cognitive, emotional, social, physical and neurological. Students of this course learn how to apply research methods to real-world settings, such as education and mental health services.

Grade Requirements:

  • A minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree in Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care, Sociology, Childcare or a related subject is required.
  • Applicants with a degree in a different subject may be considered if they can show significant and relevant work experience.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds must provide IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component (or an equivalent SELT score) to demonstrate sufficient academic English ability.
  • Applicants can submit equivalent test scores, such as TOEFL and PTE

Scholarships

International students of the BSc (Hons) Psychology with a Foundation Year at Birmingham City University are eligible for up to £1,000 off their first-year tuition fees before the deadline, and dependent on academic merit.
