Course Overview

The LLB Law with a Foundation Year in Birmingham City University programme serves as a stepping stone towards a career in law. It teaches subjects required for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), meets the Bar Standards Board's criteria and combines academic theory with practical application to help students develop essential and transferable skills.

Entry Requirements

Those interested in taking this course are required to submit a personal statement with reasons for applying to the course and other important academic information. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants generally need at least 80 UCAS Tariff points from  A-Levels, BTECs, T Levels and Access to HE Diplomas
  • Similar international qualifications are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking countries need to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each section.
  • Similar English tests like PTE are also accepted.
