Overview
The MBA (Finance and Banking) programme is designed to provide a solid understanding of both general business management and the specialised areas of finance and banking. It is particularly suitable for professionals already working in the finance sector, as well as students who aspire to build a career in finance or banking.
The curriculum is comprehensive, covering essential accounting principles and practices, including Corporate Finance and Banking strategies, and how to make effective Strategic Financial Decisions. A key component of this master's degree is the 60-credit dissertation, which allows students to deeply explore a specific financial aspect of business that interests them.
The programme's learning approach combines scheduled teaching sessions (36% of the time) with a significant emphasis on independent study (64%). This balance ensures that students develop both a strong theoretical foundation and the ability to learn and apply knowledge independently. Assessment is primarily based on coursework (90%), which may include essays, reports, and presentations, with a smaller portion (10%) assessed through examinations.

You will also need to provide one academic and one employer reference. It's expected that applicants have a minimum of two years of post-graduation work experience in a managerial or professional role.

For applicants whose first language is not English, it is necessary to demonstrate proficiency in English. This is usually achieved by achieving an overall score of 6.5 in IELTS, with a minimum score of 6.0 in each component.
