When should I start preparing my university application?

August – October

Preparation

• University Research: Consult our AHZ Egypt experts to find the best UK universities and to check if your Thanaweya Ammya or degree requires a Foundation or Pre-Masters year.
• Academic Document Gathering: This is the ideal time to collect your Egyptian transcripts and arrange for certified English translations and your "Predicted Grades."
• English Proficiency: Make sure to register for your IELTS or PTE exam during these months to ensure you hit the required score of 5.5 or higher.
• Drafting Your Personal Statement: You should start writing a personal statement that explains your goals and why you are the best fit for your chosen course.

How and when do I submit my application?

October – January

The Application Window

• Undergraduate (UCAS) Submissions: If you are pursuing a first degree, you will use the UCAS system to send your application to your top university choices.
• Postgraduate Direct Applications: For Master’s or PhD levels, you apply directly through the university websites.
• Recommendation Letters: Ask your professors and past employers for recommendation letters that highlight your academic character and hard work.

What happens after I receive a university offer?

February – May

Evaluation & Acceptance

• Reviewing Offers: You should monitor your inbox for acceptance letters and officially accept the offer that aligns with your plans.
• Securing Your Seat: To hold your spot, you will need to pay a tuition deposit in GBP and attend our interview preparation sessions for UKVI compliance.
• Requesting your CAS: Once your deposit is settled, the school will issue your electronic CAS number, which is a mandatory requirement for your visa.

What are the UK student visa and financial requirements?

June – August

Visa & Finance

• The 28-Day Rule: You must show the UK government that your required funds have remained in your bank account for at least 28 days straight.
• Visa Submission: Once your financial and medical checks are ready, you can officially submit your Student Visa application to move forward.

What should I do before arriving in the UK?

Arrival

• Pre-Departure Briefing: Before you fly, attend the AHZ Egypt Pre-Departure Briefing to learn helpful tips about packing and settling into life in the UK.
• Travel & Accommodation: This is the time to finalise your flights and student housing so that everything is ready for your move in September.
• Orientation & Enrolment: We suggest arriving early so you can join the International Orientation and meet other students before your actual lessons begin.
