Entry Requirements for Sri Lankan Students

Applicants are required to submit the following documents as part of their application: a degree certificate, academic transcript, CV or résumé, personal statement, and proof of English proficiency.

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates must hold at least a lower second-class honours degree (2:2) or a GPA of 2.40/5 (or equivalent international qualification).

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 6.0.
  • Other accepted tests include:
    • Secure English Language Test (SELT)
    • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) – minimum score of 59 in each component
    • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) – minimum grade C
    • Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) – minimum overall score of 170
  • Applicants with other qualifications should contact the International Office for guidance.
  • Students who do not meet the English language requirements may take an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Preparation Course before starting the programme.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students enrolled in the LLM International Human Rights at the University of Sunderland is £17,000 per year. Fees are subject to annual review and may change.
