MSc Health Social Policy

University of Strathclyde

Course overview

The MSc Health & Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde enables students to develop their knowledge and understanding of how key health and social policies and outcomes are connected, while also providing training in research methods. During the programme, students will learn about the factors that shape people’s health and wellbeing, as well as how different societies and governments have worked to influence these relationships.

The course provides students with a good understanding of health and social policy challenges, the connection between these challenges and health policy, and approaches to address these issues.

The programme also offers opportunities for students to undertake a placement-based dissertation module, exploring advocacy and research challenges in partnership with non-governmental organisations (NGO), policy bodies, or academic research teams.
