MEng Biomedical Engineering
Course overview
The MEng Biomedical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde is one of the oldest such departments in the world. It is a degree programme that combines a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree into a single, continuous course of study. The course covers different aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering principles along with biomedical science. This programme gives students skills and knowledge in developing medical technologies and techniques that will help patient care.
The programme is accredited by the Institute of Physics & Engineering in Medicine, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and the Institution of Engineering & Technology, on behalf of the Engineering Council. Learning is done through research, lectures, talks from experts, practical sessions, and visits to clinical centres and hospitals. Assessment is through coursework, examinations, lab work, and research projects.
