LLB Law with French

Course Overview

The LLB (Hons) Law with French at the University of Strathclyde is a comprehensive five-year programme that provides you with two major qualifications: a full Scottish Law degree and advanced proficiency in the French language. Strathclyde’s Law School ranks among the best in Scotland, and completion of this course ensures that you meet all the professional requirements set by the Law Society of Scotland, preparing you to train as a solicitor.

French is one of the world’s most influential languages, and a key feature of this degree is your compulsory year abroad (Year 4), where you will live and study in France. This invaluable experience enhances fluency and cultural understanding, strengthening your career prospects.

You will study fundamental law subjects such as Constitutional Law and EU Law, alongside yearly modules in French language and culture. The course also integrates hands-on experience through Strathclyde’s student-run Law Clinic, giving you real-world exposure to legal problem-solving.

Studying LLB (Hons) Law with French from the University of Strathclyde equips you with an internationally recognised qualification, opening legal career pathways both in the UK and globally.
