University of Salford

Course overview

This BSc Diagnostic Radiography at the University of Salford is a full-time, three-year course. It gives them the skills to become a highly trained diagnostic radiographer. This job is essential because it combines science, technology, and patient care to diagnose and treat illnesses. Radiographers learn how to operate advanced imaging machines, such as CT scanners, MRI scanners, and ultrasound devices, to produce high-quality images of the body.

Students’ learning combines university study with lots of practical work in hospitals or clinics. Half (50%) of their time on this course will be spent on work placements within the NHS or private healthcare companies. Their knowledge will be checked using different methods, including written and clinical exams, assignments, and presentations. This course is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which is essential for working as a qualified professional.
