BSc Building Surveying

Course Overview

The BSc Building Survey at the University of Salford is designed to help students develop knowledge and skills needed to describe, explain and apply building construction techniques,  as well as identify the correct strategies that can be applied to building surveying projects. 

The University of Salford's BSc Building Surveying programme will allow students to learn about the construction industry and its legal and regulatory frameworks, and explore the relationship between buildings and their internal and external environments. 

The Building Surveying degree is accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), ensuring that the knowledge and skills students acquire meet the highest industry standards.

Entry Requirements for Sri Lankan Students

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

Applicants are expected to have 104 UCAS tariff points from qualifications equivalent to A-Levels. Other accepted qualifications include TEC National Diploma, International Baccalaureate and T Levels.

English Proficiency:

  • If English is not the applicant's first language, they need to prove their English proficiency. An IELTS score of 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) is accepted, as well as a range of equivalent qualifications such as PTE and TOEFL.

Cost of Study

For international students who are enrolling full-time in the 2025/26 academic year for the BSc Building Surveying from the University of Salford, the tuition fee is £17,650.

Scholarships

The University of Salford has several scholarships for international students, such as the Chevening, NCUK, and Commonwealth Scholarships. They also offer Global Gold and Silver Excellence Scholarships, which can reduce your tuition fees. If you've studied at Salford before, you might get a 20% discount, and paying your fees early could give you a 3% discount.
