Course overview

BSc Psychology with Foundation Year at the University of Roehampton begins with a foundation year that helps students gain key academic and practical skills,  as well as a solid introduction to Psychology. It gives a starting point in the scientific study of the mind, behaviour and mental processes, and the professional skills in applying to real-world problems. 

The foundation year includes modules such as Issues and Debates in Psychology, Academic Skills and Communications, Data Analysis and Research Skills, and Perspectives in Psychology, designed to help strengthen students’ core academic and study skills. Students learn through open sessions, seminars, practical workshops, and independent study, and in-person and online support is provided. 

Assessment in this course is based on various projects and activities rather than exams, helping students gain experience that reflects how psychology is applied in real settings. This degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Entry requirements

Grade Requirements:

Candidates applying for the BSc Psychology programme at the University of Roehampton must meet at least one of the following grade requirements;

  • 112–128 UCAS points 

  • BTEC National Certificate or Diploma

  • A completed T Level award

  • The full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate.

English Language Requirements:

Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate at least a minimum standard of English language proficiency from the following;

  • IELTS Academic, having a 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component.

  • The TOEFL IBT score of 80 overall, with a minimum of 17 in listening and writing, 18 in reading and 20 in speaking.

  • A total score of 59 with 59 in all subtests for PTE Academic.

    The scholarships are worth £2000, paid for the length of your course.
