Course overview

The BSc Computing and Digital Technologies (with Foundation Year) programme is a four-year course (foundation and three years of honours study). The programme is created to help students who do not meet the requirements to start a direct degree programme in Computing and Digital Technologies from year one.

Students who start their studies from the foundation can gain the basics they need to go into Year one of the full BSc degree. This pathway programme equips students with important study skills, mathematical and computing fundamentals, and English and research skills, before they move on to the main degree modules.

When students complete the foundation year, they will learn software development, data science, network systems, interface design, cybersecurity, and business automation. Students will be assessed through coursework, lab assignments, exams, group projects, and a final year project where they propose and implement a solution to a real-world computing problem.
