LLM Law

The LLM Law degree at the University of Portsmouth is designed for those seeking specialisation in the legal field or to increase their existing knowledge. During the programme, students can focus on areas such as Intellectual Property, Information Law, International Commercial Law, or International Dispute Resolution. 

Students are to attend campus two to three days each week in combination with online learning and physical learning sessions, while assessments include coursework, reports, essays, written projects and examinations.

Applicants are to provide a personal statement explaining their motivations for choosing the course and other relevant academic details. A teacher or employer reference is also necessary. Applicants can also include their CVs with their submission to show relevant professional experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants should hold at least a second-class honours undergraduate degree, or an equivalent qualification, in any academic field.
• Applicants with sufficient work experience in the legal field will also be considered.

English Proficiency: 

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS examination, with a minimum of  5.5 in each section.

For international students, the annual tuition fee for the LLM International Law at the University of Portsmouth is  £17,900.
