Computing FdSc

The FdSc Computing at the University of Portsmouth provides students with an excellent foundation in web development, network and database design, and programming for applications and other platforms. Students will gain advanced skills and knowledge in areas that interest them, such as cybersecurity, business connectivity, or social media.

They will turn their interest in computers into the skills employers in the IT sector are looking for, and learn how to apply these skills to meet the needs of society through technological solutions.

Upon completion of the course, students will be ready to progress into a full Honours degree and will also have the opportunity to undertake further study at the University of Portsmouth to convert their qualifications into a BSc (Hons) Computing.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants are expected to have 48-56 UCAS tariff points, obtained through 1 A-Level or equivalent qualifications such as a BTEC Diploma or T-Level. 

English Proficiency:

• If English is not the language you usually speak, you will need to show your English language ability. You can do this by getting a score of 5.5 overall in the IELTS test, with a score of at least 5.5 in each of the four parts.

The tuition fee for international students on the FdSc Computing at the University of Portsmouth is £19,200 for the 2025-26 academic year.
