BSc Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences Dual Degree with a year abroad

The BSc Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences (Dual Degree)  with a year abroad at the University of Portsmouth is a dual degree course created for individuals who want to turn their passion for sport and exercise into an exciting global career. The learning modules include advanced exercise physiology, biomechanics of sport and exercise, psychology of sport and exercise, exercise rehabilitation, sports Injury prevention and management, and coaching science. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes and workshops. Assessment is carried out through independent study such as research, reading, coursework, group work and a research project in the final year.

The University of Portsmouth (UoP) is located in Portsmouth, England. It was established in 1870 and has been providing quality education. In 2022, UoP ranked as the 25th-largest higher education institution by student enrolments in the United Kingdom, with around 28,280 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Applicants are to submit a personal statement explaining their interest in the course, and extensive experience, together with evidence of scholarly ability, is required. Applicants can also upload a CV to show any relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants typically need  120-128 UCAS tariff points (A level ABB–BBB or equivalent), which should include a minimum of 2 A levels, or equivalent, with 32 points from a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, PE, Physics, Psychology or Sports Science and the Active Leisure Industry or Sports Studies).

English Proficiency:

• Non-English speaking applicants need a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 with no component score below 5.5.
• Alternative English proficiency tests, such as PTE or TOEFL, are accepted.

The tuition fee for this programme is £17,200 per year for international students. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.

The University of Portsmouth awards several scholarships to international students. Some of these include the Chancellor’s Global Academic Merit Scholarship, which offers a £5,000 reduction in fees and the Vice Chancellor's Global Development Scholarship, which offers a £2,500 fee reduction applied to the first year of study. These scholarships are awarded by the university when students meet the eligibility requirements.
