BA Business with Business Communication Top-up

The BA Business with Business Communication (Top-up) at the University of Portsmouth is for students who have already studied business at a higher level and want to get a full bachelor’s degree. This course is also suitable for those whose first language is not English because they get to study business topics and improve their English skills at the same time. 

Students will learn about important subjects such as international business and strategic management. They will also practice business communication through presentations, interviews, and writing tasks. The programme is flexible, so students can finish it in one or two years, based on their previous studies and English proficiency level. 

Furthermore, the course helps students build both technical knowledge and important skills, like teamwork and communication. Graduates from this programme are ready for careers in fields like business development, digital marketing, recruitment, and financial analysis.

Grade Requirements:

• Students applying for the 2-year course need a Level 4 qualification, like an HNC or 120 credits from the first year of a relevant degree.
• For the 1-year course, applicants need a Level 5 qualification, such as an HND, or 240 credits from the first two years of a degree.

English Proficiency:

• For entry into year 2, applicants need a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 with no skill area below 5.5, and for year 3, they need at least 6.0 with no section below 5.5.

International students enrolling in the University of Portsmouth’s BA Business with Business Communication (Top-up) programme for the 2025/26 academic year will pay the tuition fee of £16,200. Keep in mind that this fee may still be updated annually.

At the University of Portsmouth, international students can apply for different scholarships. One option is the Chancellor's Global Academic Merit Scholarship, which offers £5,000 off the first year’s fees for excellent students. Another scholarship, the Vice Chancellor's Global Development Scholarship, gives £2,500 off first-year fees for qualified students.
