Course Overview

The BA Business programme at the University of Lincoln is designed to last three years for full-time students, though it offers the option to extend to four years if they choose to pursue a work placement or study abroad. The course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and its primary goal is to provide a solid foundation in essential business principles. Students will cultivate valuable skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, preparing them to become effective leaders in the business world.

As students progress through the programme, they will gain a comprehensive understanding of key areas such as management strategies, organisational behavior, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Some of the core modules that they will study include subjects like Data Analytics for Business, Human Resource Management, and Digital Business and E-commerce. Assessments are carried out through reports, essays, projects, and presentations.

About University

The University of Lincoln is located in the city of Lincoln, specifically on the Brayford Pool waterfront, and is home to over 15,000 students. It was established in 1996 when Queen Elizabeth II opened its first building. Since that time, the university has invested around £400 million to improve its facilities, including the Isaac Newton Building and the Ross Lucas Medical Sciences Building.

Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • International candidates are required to possess qualifications that are equivalent to A Level grades. Specifically, they should have a minimum of 104 UCAS Tariff points, which can be obtained from at least two A Levels.
  • Another acceptable qualification is an International Baccalaureate with a minimum score of 28 points overall.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants whose primary language is not English must obtain a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0, ensuring they score at least 5.5 in each individual component. 
  • Other accepted qualifications include TOEFL IBT and PTE Academic.

Cost of Study

For international students enrolling in the University of Lincoln’s BA Business programme during the 2025/26 academic year, tuition fees will be approximately £16,600 per level. For those who wish to include a placement year or study abroad, the associated fees are £1,850 and £1,385, respectively. These fees are subject to annual review, and students are encouraged to check for updates.

Scholarships

The University of Lincoln offers various scholarships to support its students financially. International students can apply for the International Undergraduate Scholarship, which provides up to £2,000 per year, and the Global Leaders Scholarship, which offers a 50% discount on tuition fees for one year of study.

Additionally, the Lincoln Alumni MSc Social Work Scholarship gives £1,000 per year to students who previously completed an undergraduate degree at Lincoln and are now enrolled in the MSc Social Work programme. Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship covers full tuition fees for one year for eligible students at the University’s overseas partner institutions.
