BSc Financial Management With Foundation Year

The BSc Financial Management With Foundation Year is designed for individuals who wish to understand how to balance risk and reward but do not meet the standard entry requirements for the bachelor's degree. Before the main programme, this option includes a one-year course to improve the knowledge and skills of the individual to the required standard. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students are guaranteed admission into the full degree.

As an AACSB-accredited course, the BSc in Financial Management covers the core modules such as financial planning, accounting and finance, and financial reporting, everything necessary to maintain excellent financial health. The teaching method includes lectures, workshops, seminars, etc.

Here are the entry requirements to study the BSc in Financial Management (with Foundation year) at the University of Hull:

Students who need the Foundation Year study must register for the Business Management with Foundation Year programme. They must present experience in related subjects and an aptitude for academic work. The aptitude may be determined by an essay and/or interview alongside the application.

Grade Requirements

Applicants must submit a minimum of 80 UCAS tariff points from either A-Levels, BTEC, or other equivalent qualifications. For A-Levels, applicants need a minimum grade of CDD and MMP for BTEC qualifications. They also need at least a grade C/4 in GCSE Maths or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths.

English Proficiency

Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.0. TOEFL or other equivalents are also allowed.

The tuition fee (2025/2026) to study BSc Financial Management (with a foundation year) at the University of Hull is £17,500. However, students will pay 15% and 20% of the annual fee for a year abroad and a placement year, respectively. Other expenses like accommodation, a laptop, and living, etc., are borne by the student.
