Masters by Research Aerospace Engineering
University of HertfordshireUniversity of Hertfordshire, Hatfield
Course overview
The Masters by Research in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Hertfordshire allows students to specialise in areas such as aeroelasticity, steady and unsteady aerodynamics, non-linear dynamics, control systems, flapping wings and probabilistic structural analysis. Each student will be assigned a principal supervisor and a second supervisor who are experts in the relevant research area. Research is conducted in the university's well-equipped laboratories, covering a wide range of topics.
The programme is completed over 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time. Research students are required to undergo a registration assessment, conducted as a formal viva (oral exam) 3 months for full-time students and 6 months for part-time students. For the final assessment, students must submit their thesis and will be examined in a viva by both an external and an internal examiner. This programme enables students to develop specialist research skills and knowledge. Students will be given research projects that challenge and inspire them.
