MSc Global Project Management

The MSc Global Project Management at the University of Essex provides the skills and knowledge needed to excel in managing projects on a global scale. This programme is designed to be accessible, even if you don't have a prior business degree.

This course teaches you how to manage projects by organizing resources and meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality standards, all while handling risks. You'll work in groups and on real-world projects to build your leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, which are important for international projects.

Instead of writing a research paper, students can create a detailed business plan, which lets them apply what they've learned practically.

• Eligibility may be granted to applicants who hold a professional qualification (e.g., CIM, CIPD, CMI) and can demonstrate two years of relevant professional or managerial experience.
• Applicants with a lower-class degree may still be considered if they have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. A CV documenting this experience is required.

Grade Requirements

• A 2:2 degree or international equivalent in any discipline.

English Proficiency

• Candidates whose first language isn’t English are required to have an IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum score of 5.5 in all components.
• Candidates who do not meet the IELTS requirements may be able to complete a pre-sessional English pathway that enables applicants to start the course without retaking IELTS.

International students in the 2025/26 academic year should expect to pay £23,500 for tuition.
