Course overview

Our MA Creative Enterprise is for anyone working in the creative industries who wants to learn entrepreneurial skills tailored for artistic and creative work. You’ll combine business strategy with creative practice to turn ideas into viable commercial works with a social aspect – becoming, essentially, a creative entrepreneur. This dynamic and inter-disciplinary programme welcomes students from across the creative fields – including (but not limited to) design, fine art, photography, media, digital arts, performing arts, film, music, advertising and marketing.

Creative enterprise really means looking at how creativity, leadership, and innovation come together in your chosen specialism. You’ll be encouraged to develop new projects and business concepts that generate economic value while also making a cultural and social impact. At the University of East London, Creative Enterprise is about connecting making and meaning in your work.

It is: Contextual: Rooted in place, identity, and lived experience. Innovative: Expanding your creative specialism within the global and local creative industries. Using inter-disciplinary methods and sustainable approaches to push boundaries.
