BSc Sport, Physical Education and Development

University of East London

Course overview

This three-year BSc Sport, Physical Education and Development course teaches students all about Physical Education (PE), growing sport in the community, and getting people involved. It shows them how to use sports and activities to help improve everyone's health. They will learn how to make sport welcoming and easy for all people to take part in, which sets them up well for jobs in teaching or community work.

Students learn using a "flipped classroom" method. This means students first study some things online by themself, and then they come to class for active lessons with their teacher. Students' grades are decided by different tasks, like coursework, writing essays and reports, and doing practical, hands-on teaching. In the final year, students will complete a major research project and do a compulsory work placement. This placement gives them valuable experience with schools and large sports organisations.
