BSc Sport and Exercise Science
Course overview
This BSc Sport and Exercise Science at the University of East London looks at how three areas work together: how the body moves (biomechanics), how the body works (physiology), and the mind (psychology). This knowledge helps people be better at sports and live a healthy life. Students will study how these subjects connect, so they get all the knowledge needed to become a good sport and exercise scientist. The course lets you choose extra topics like analysing performance, strength training, food and diet (nutrition), and long-term health problems.
Students will learn at the excellent SportsDock centre. This building has modern labs, a place for checking sports performance, and special tools for looking at how the body moves. Students' final grade comes from different things, including coursework (like essays and reports), exams, and practical, hands-on work in the labs. They will also benefit from connections with professional sports teams and can be inspired by past students who became Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement that explains their reasons for applying for the course and provides details about their previous studies and career aims. A useful academic and/or employer reference is also needed.
