BSc Psychology
Course overview
The BSc Psychology at the University of East London is an undergraduate degree. It teaches students how the mind and behaviour work. The course covers topics such as cognitive, developmental, and social psychology, as well as research methods. Students are taught to design and conduct psychological studies, collect data, analyse results, and report findings. The programme encourages students to apply psychological ideas to real-world settings and prepares them for further study or work in psychology‐related fields. In the first year, students build the foundations in psychology and research methods.
In later years, the focus moves to more advanced issues such as mental health, forensic psychology, and applied psychology. Many modules involve hands-on tasks, group work, and research projects. In the final year, students are required to complete a significant research project of their own, in which they select a topic, gather data, and present their findings. Students learn through a mix of lectures, seminars, workshops, and labs. Assessment will include coursework, lab reports, essays, presentations, and the final research project.
