BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering

University of East Anglia UEA

Course overview

The BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of East Anglia (UEA) is approved by the IET. It prepares engineers to work on important issues, such as how we produce power and how things are becoming more digital. In the first year, students study an integrated programme that covers the main ideas from all engineering areas, including mechanical and energy principles. This gives students a broad knowledge base before they start focusing on the electrical and electronic subjects.

From the second year onward, students focus on electrical and electronic subjects, such as power electronics and electric motors. They will use high-quality facilities, such as Productivity East, for practical work in the electronics labs. Assessment includes regular coursework, written reports, group projects, presentations, and traditional examinations. Their skills are tested through a major engineering project in their final year.
