BEng Motorsport Engineering
Course overview
The BEng Motorsport Engineering at the University of Derby is a three-year programme professionally accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers to prepare engineers for the competitive international motorsport industry.
The course covers core concepts, including advanced power train engineering, motorsport chassis design, and computational fluid dynamics, ensuring students have an understanding of vehicle systems.
Learning involves practical experience in specialist facilities, including dedicated workshops and computer labs with industry-standard software for simulation, track testing and design. Assessment is conducted through coursework assignments, formal presentations, and examinations.
Entry requirements
Applicants are required to submit a personal statement with reasons for applying to the course and other important academic information. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience

Applicants generally need at least 120 UCAS Tariff points from A-Levels at BBC, BTEC Extended Diploma at DMM, T Levels and Access to HE Diplomas

English Proficiency:

Applicants from non-English speaking countries need to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each section.
