BA Psychology and Sociology

University of Derby

Course overview

This joint degree, BA Psychology and Sociology at the University of Derby, combines psychology and sociology, which helps students gain skills and knowledge in two areas, making them more effective graduates. In the first year, they will study both subjects equally. Later, they can choose to focus more on one subject (their major) or keep them balanced. If they choose to major in psychology and meet all the necessary standards, they can get official approval from the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The teachers are experts who actively do research in areas like mental health, social fairness, and conspiracy theories. Students will be marked using a mix of work, which includes essays, presentations, case studies, and practical projects. The university offers special teaching rooms, such as a psychology and counselling suite that has observation rooms.
