BSc Games Design
Course overview
The BSc programme with a foundation year is suitable for students who want to become game or level designers by combining creative vision with technical, practical skills. The foundation year is the first stage of the four-year course and is built to provide students with the academic skills and subject knowledge required to succeed at the university level, which prepares them for direct entry into the main three-year degree, as they work together with tutors who have industry experience and research-focused academics.
A key part of it involves hands-on experience in both programming and visual scripting, meaning that students will learn how to design and build games. They will work together with students from the Games Development course, imitating a real studio environment. This collaboration helps them develop the necessary skills of teamwork, communication, and project management for the industry.
