BSc Artificial Intelligence Data Science

Course Overview

The BSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science course at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) can be completed within three years if pursued full-time. There is an option to include a 48-week industry placement, which extends the course duration to four years. This programme enables students to design, develop, and deploy AI and data-driven solutions.

Students will study the core principles of artificial intelligence, including language processing and deep learning. They will also learn programming, data science, data visualisation, computational maths, and simulation. The curriculum also covers ethical considerations in AI to address issues such as bias mitigation and data privacy.

  • For this course, work experience and personal statements are considered.

Grade Requirements

  • Students need 96-112 UCAS Tariff points at A2 or equivalent credentials, including T Levels, BTECs, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

English Proficiency

  • Candidates who are non-native English speakers must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall (5.5 in all sections) or pass an approved alternative English test.

Cost of Study

The tuition for international students in the BSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science course at the University of Central Lancashire is roughly £17,325 for the academic year 2025/26. Please note that these fees may still be revised.

Scholarships

At the University of Central Lancashire, international students can find a range of scholarships and bursaries.
