LLB Law with Business
Course overview
The LLB Law with Business with Foundation Year at the University of Law is a four-year degree that combines a solid legal education with fundamental business knowledge. The first year (Foundation Year) gives students a strong base in academic skills, core concepts in law, business, and society, so they are well-prepared for degree-level study. Once students move into the main LLB, they study key legal disciplines such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, Public Law, Tort, and Equity and Trusts. Alongside that, they take business-oriented modules like Business Law, Corporate Governance, and other business electives, giving a real insight into how companies work and how legal rules apply in business settings.
Teaching is practical as students engage in pro bono work, mock trials, legal-business case studies, and teamwork. In this way, students do not just learn theory; they gain skills needed in real professional environments. In the Foundation Year, students take six modules spread over two semesters. After passing the Foundation Year, students move into the three-year LLB. Students learn through lectures, workshops, seminar discussions, and practical activities such as mock trials. They develop legal reasoning, client interviewing, legal drafting, and business thinking. Assessments combine formal exams, coursework in the form of essays or project reports, presentations, and portfolios.
