PHD Robotics

The PhD in Robotics is a specialised research programme where students will undertake supervised study at the Centre for Automation and Robotics Research (CARR). Students will focus on a specific area of robotics, such as computational intelligence or human-robot interaction. The course will help students gain advanced skills and credentials in this important field.

The programme is primarily an independent study course, supported by a supervisory team of experts. It includes mandatory training in research and ethics. Students also have the option for further training in teaching and various software, such as Linux and ROS. Students will have opportunities to present their work and network with other researchers.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants should have an undergraduate degree, with a grade of 2:1 or above, and/or a relevant master's qualification.

English Proficiency:

• If the candidates are from a country where English is not the main language, they must provide proof of their English language ability.
• An overall IELTS score of 6.5 or above, with at least 6.0 in each component or an accepted equivalent. Please note that your test score must be current, i.e. within the last two years.

For full-time international and EU postgraduate research students, the tuition fee for this programme is £17,725 per year.
