Course Overview

The BSc (Honours) Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence with Foundation Year is a course that equips students to undertake the full degree programme. The course offers a good foundation in computing principles with emphasis on problem-solving and programming.

This first year will enable students to develop knowledge and academic skills, which will enable them to advance confidently to the main degree content. In this course, students learn the basics of computer programming, database systems, web technologies, and study skills.

You will focus on the important concepts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software development after the foundation year. The programme is aimed at developing systems that are able to resolve complex problems.

In this course, analytical and mathematical methods will be used to design and develop complex software. You will also be participating in live projects, working together with businesses to solve real-world problems and acquire real experience in the industry.

Entry Requirements for Sri Lankan Students

Grade Requirements:

You need 80 UCAS Tariff points, including A-Levels, T Levels, and BTECs. International qualifications that are equivalent to A-levels are also accepted. Candidates who have professional work experience may be considered.

English Proficiency:

Applicants who are non-native English speakers will need to demonstrate their proficiency. This can be achieved with an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills, or an equivalent qualification.
