Course overview
The BSc (Hons) Data Science with Business Management offers a valuable blend of practical Data Science skills and the essential business context required for their application in a professional setting. The four-year programme provides competence in data storage, analysis using a range of techniques including machine learning, and effective data visualisation tools. The course is jointly delivered by the School of Computing and the Aberdeen Business School.
Learning involves a mixture of lectures, practical computing work, and smaller group tutorials for the business modules. Assessment is comprehensive, typically including the demonstration of practical skills, coursework, written reports, written examinations, and a large, individual dissertation in the final year. Students also have the option to complete a paid industrial placement.
Entry requirements
Candidates need to submit a personal statement and relevant information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference, and their CV to show their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Candidates need a BCC in A-level or equivalent.
- Other International qualifications equivalent to an A-level are also accepted.
English Proficiency:
- Candidates need an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS Academic test, with no component less than 5.5.
- Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.
