BSc Sport Psychology and Coaching including foundation year

This degree will introduce students to sports science, providing essential knowledge in sports psychology, human movement, the social impact of sport, and the value it adds to the development of individuals. The four-year course includes a foundation year, which provides the necessary skills for students' subsequent three years of study, helping them gain the confidence to pursue a career in sports coaching or education.

The programme will teach them how to encourage, develop, and improve other people's sporting performance or participation. The coaching skills developed are applicable at both elite and community levels.

They will have access to a large sports hall and extensively equipped sports science laboratories, and will be supported by teaching staff with wide-ranging coaching knowledge.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants should have a minimum of 112 UCAS points from A levels, including a C in Biology or Human Biology.
• A minimum of 112 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification such as a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma/Diploma is also accepted.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need an overall score of 6.0 in IELTS, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
• Equivalent test scores are also accepted.

London Metropolitan University offers various scholarships, including the International Bright Futures Scholarship, which provides a £3,000 tuition fee reduction for eligible international students.

The university also offers the Unite Foundation Scholarship Scheme, which provides three years of free accommodation for eligible students who are care leavers or estranged from their parents.
