BSc Psychology
Course overview
The BSc Psychology at London Metropolitan University is a three-year undergraduate course officially recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This recognition is key because it makes students eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), which is the first step to becoming a chartered psychologist. The programme will provide students with a broad understanding of various areas of psychology and teach them essential research skills.
In the first year, students will learn the basics of the subject. The second year explores more complex topics, including intelligence, creativity, and prejudice. In their final year, they can focus on a subject that they are interested in, such as forensic, work, counselling, or clinical psychology.

Entry requirements
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Applicants need a minimum of grades BCC from three A levels or grades BC from two A levels in academic or business subjects.
- A minimum of 104 UCAS points is also accepted from a Level 3 qualification, such as a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma/Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Progression Diploma, or an Access to HE Diploma with 60 credits.
English Proficiency:
- All applicants must have a GCSE in English Language at grade C (grade 4) or higher, or an equivalent qualification.
- International students need to provide the results of a Secure English Language Test (SELT), such as an IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 and no less than 5.5 in each component.
