BSc Architectural Technology

Course Overview

With the BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology at Liverpool John Moores University, students gain the skills to design, detail, and manage building projects from concept to completion. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), students receive high-quality education. Academic and industry experts deliver this standard in a supportive environment.

In this course, students will study construction technology, building materials, sustainability, property development, professional practice, digital design, and building information modelling (BIM). They will also work on a final-year dissertation and design project. These give them the expertise and experience to work in the architectural, construction, and design-related industries.

This 3- to 4-year programme combines various teaching methods, including lectures, tutorials, seminars, and group discussions. Students also benefit from placements, international study, and collaborative projects that increase their employability. Assessment is mainly coursework, including reports, reflective pieces, design documentation, and presentations, with the dissertation and design project as final assessments.
