BSc Neuroscience with Artificial Intelligence

Course Overview

The BSc Neuroscience with Artificial Intelligence at Keele University combines neuroscience (the study of brain structure and function) with artificial intelligence to teach students how to use computing tools to understand neural systems. Students will explore the complexities of brain function and how artificial intelligence and machine learning can change the investigation and treatment of neurological disorders.

In this course, students will study topics such as neuroanatomy, neuropathology, neurophysiology,  neural communication, behaviour and machine learning. Students will learn from research-active experts in the university’s state-of-the-art laboratories. The teaching methods include lectures, laboratory practicals, workshops and tutorials. The assessment methods include coursework, exams, essays, portfolios, laboratory reports, presentations and an Independent research project.

Entry Requirements for Sri Lankan Students

All applicants are expected to submit a personal statement explaining their interest in the BSc Neuroscience with Artificial Intelligence programme, and provide a reference from a teacher, adviser or professional who knows them academically. A CV can be uploaded to show any relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants should have 120 UCAS tariff points, such as ABB at A-level (including B in two Science subjects from the Keele Defined Sciences List).
  • Alternatively, credentials like BTEC DDM, Access to HE Diploma, or International Baccalaureate are accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants who do not speak English as their first language need an overall IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each part.
  • Alternative equivalent tests, such as the PTE or TOEFL, are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for this course is £17,700 per year for international students. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.

Scholarships

Keele University offers scholarships and funding options to support international students in pursuing their studies in the UK. Scholarships such as the Undergraduate Global Scholarship offer a £5,000 tuition fee discount, the Advanced Entry Scholarship (UG) offers a £3,000 tuition fee discount, and the International Baccalaureate Global Scholarship offers a £1,000 tuition fee discount. These scholarships are awarded to international students who meet the requirements.
