BSc Computing

The BSc (Hons) Computing at Edge Hill University is designed to give you the knowledge and practical skills necessary to start a career in the digital world. In this course, you study computing principles and technologies applied in areas such as programming, networks, big data, security, and human-computer interaction.

The BSc (Hons) Computing at Edge Hill University will teach you how computing concepts and technical methods are used across domains like gaming, ecommerce, graphics, database systems, and cybersecurity. You will learn to apply these techniques in hands-on environments and critically evaluate emerging technologies.

Teaching and learning include lectures and seminars, computing lab workshops, virtual reality experiences in the £13 million Tech Hub, group work, and real-world project briefs. Assessment comes in the form of practical exercises, reports, essays, examinations, group projects, presentations, and a final research and development project or an optional industry sandwich year work placement.

To study BSc Computing at Edge Hill University, you must meet the following requirements:

Grade Requirements:

• You should have 112-120 UCAS points from either A-levels (BBC-BBB), BTEC (DMM), or other equivalent qualifications.
• You may also submit an International Baccalaureate Diploma with points equal to the required UCAS points.

English Proficiency:

• Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.0. TOEFL or other equivalents are also accepted.

The tuition fee (2025/2026 session) to study BSc Computing at Edge Hill University is £17,000 per year of study.

Edge Hill University provides its international students with numerous opportunities to fund their education. For instance, undergraduate students may receive a tuition fee discount of up to £3,000 for their first year. Similarly, those enrolling in a full-time master’s course are automatically considered for a £3,000 tuition fee discount, with the exception of certain programmes.
