BSc Computer Engineering

This degree explores how computer systems work from hardware to software, covering computer architecture, operating systems, sensors, robotics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and embedded systems. Students learn through lectures, practical lab work, robotics tasks, and projects using advanced digital facilities and engineering tools and develop skills in designing, managing and delivering industrial computing projects, including computer-aided engineering and industrial automation.

Students are assessed through practical exercises, reports, essays, presentations and exams, emphasising independent work with some team-based tasks.

Edge Hill University is a respected public campus university in Ormskirk, Lancashire, founded in 1885 as a teacher training college and granted full university status in 2006. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses across fields such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business and the Arts, all supported by modern facilities.

Candidates are to submit a personal statement discussing their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An educator or employer reference is also required, with an option to upload a CV to show relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants typically need 112–120 UCAS Tariff points, with GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or Grade 4 or above
• A combination of A‑Levels, BTEC (DMM), T Levels, Access to HE or equivalent qualifications are accepted as way to achieve the points.

English Proficiency:

• Candidates without an English-speaking background need an IELTS score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
• An equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT) is also accepted

International students' tuition fee is £17,000 per year.

The university offers a range of scholarships and financial support options, one such, is the Undergraduate Development Scholarship, which gives up to £3,000 off first-year tuition fees, automatically considered for full-time overseas undergraduates.
