BA Law and Business

This BA in Law and Business is a three-year full-time course that brings together legal studies and business topics. It teaches students how law and businesses work together. The aim is to give students the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to do well in today's difficult business world. The course trains students to become solicitors or barristers and also prepares them for jobs in the business area.

In the first year, students will learn about the legal system, contract law, and how businesses operate now. The second year looks at legal areas important to business, basic law subjects, and international business. Students will be graded through coursework, exams, and practical tasks. There are chances for work placements too, so students can use what they learn in real-life situations.

Grade Requirements:

• For this course, applicants need between 104 and 112 UCAS Tariff points. This can be achieved with A-Levels (e.g., BCC to BBB) or a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (e.g., DMM).
• There are no strictly required subjects that the applicant must have studied. However, if the applicant hasn't studied something related before or doesn't have relevant work experience, they might be offered a four-year course that includes an extra Foundation Year.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not an applicant's first language, they need to show proficiency. An IELTS Academic score of 6.0 overall, with no part below 5.5, is required
•  Other accepted tests include TOEFL iBT (overall 78), Duolingo English Test (overall 105), Cambridge English Qualifications (overall 169), and Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic, overall 59).

For international students, the annual tuition fee for this full-time undergraduate programme at Edge Hill University is £17,000. 

Edge Hill University offers various scholarships and financial support to help international students. All full-time students from overseas who pay international fees are automatically considered for a scholarship when they apply for a course. This means applicants do not need to fill out a separate form for some awards. For undergraduate students, there are general Undergraduate Development Scholarships, which can offer up to £3,000 off the first year's tuition fees.

Additionally, if international students pay their full tuition fees early, they might receive an International Early Payment Discount of £500. For postgraduate students from specific countries, the university partners with the British Council for "GREAT Scholarships", which can provide a £10,000 discount on tuition fees. The university also has "Excellence Scholarships" for current undergraduate students, which are awarded based on achievements outside their academic studies.
