MSc Software Engineering

The De Montfort University MSc Software Engineering programme is designed to equip students with the skills required to deliver high-quality and reliable software systems by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application.

• For those without formal academic qualifications but with extensive industry experience, applications are considered on an individual basis, recognising the value of professional background.

English Proficiency: 

• If English is not your first language, an IELTS overall score of 6.0, with no individual component score below 5.5, is typically required. 
• The university accepts equivalent test scores like PTE and TOEFL.

The tuition fee for International students taking the MSc Software Engineering at De Montfort University for the 2025/26 academic year is £18,100.

De Montfort University offers a range of scholarships for eligible international postgraduate students. These include the DMU International Scholarship, which provides a partial fee reduction, often up to £3,000, for new international postgraduate students. The specific value may depend on the timing of tuition fee payments. 

Additionally, the Global Access Scholarship provides a fee reduction, typically £3,000 for Computing, Engineering and Media courses for September 2025 and January 2026 starts, and is automatically awarded to eligible students who pay their deposit by the deadline.
