MSc Occupational Therapy pre-registration

Course Overview

The Coventry University MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) degree in occupational therapy is designed to equip students to be critical thinkers who are compassionate and have good communication skills. The course is built on the usage of occupation, the daily activities that people engage in, as a therapeutic agent to improve the health and well-being of people. The programme will also provide you with a Leadership qualification from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

The course structure will consist of a professional project and three practice-based placements, during which the students will have at least 1000 hours of supervised experience in different healthcare settings, and the university will source these placements. The curriculum is designed to help you develop skills in clinical reasoning, reflective practice, and applying theory to real-world situations.

Entry Requirements for Sri Lankan Students

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement, a suitable reference from a teacher or an employer, and their CVs to show their work experience. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and an Occupational Health assessment are also required.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are required to have at least a lower second-class (2:2) honours degree or above in a relevant subject. Students with other qualifications or significant relevant professional experience may also be considered.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants whose first language is not English need an IELTS overall score of 7.0, with no element below 6.5 or an equivalent.

Cost of Study

For the MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) at Coventry University, the tuition fee for international students is £18,600. Please note that there may be additional costs not included in the fees, such as printing and books.
