BEng Aerospace Engineering

Coventry University offers a BEng Aerospace Engineering degree. This course is designed to help students fully understand the principles of systems engineering and how they are used in the aerospace industry. Students will learn to use the same tools and methods found in the industry. 

The programme is officially recognised by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), meaning it completely meets the training needed to become an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and partly meets the training for a Chartered Engineer (CEng).

Students' learning will involve practical activities such as projects, solving problems, and studying real-world examples in classrooms, labs, or even work environments. The course covers important subjects such as how fluids move (fluid mechanics), how air interacts with aircraft (aerodynamics), and key mechanical and electrical engineering principles. 

Students will also learn about design and essential aerospace skills. In the first year, students will study topics common to related courses, providing students with a solid base before they choose their specialisation.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement where they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other necessary information about their education. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• For the BEng Aerospace Engineering programme, applicants need 120 UCAS Tariff points. This usually translates to A-Levels at BBB or a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma at DDM.
• Other international qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted by the university.

English Proficiency: 

• Applicants whose first language is not English need an overall score of 6.5 in IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component. 
• Alternatively, the university accepts other equivalent recognised English language test scores.

For international students, the full-time tuition fee for the BEng Aerospace Engineering programme is £19,850.

Coventry University offers several scholarships and financial support to help students. For eligible international students (excluding EU), the Vice-Chancellor Undergraduate Scholarship can take up to £4,000 off a three-year bachelor's degree. This breaks down to £2,000 in the first year, and £1,000 in each of the next two years.

Additionally, the university provides an EU Support Bursary, which reduces tuition fees for qualifying EU students to match UK rates. Past Coventry University students can get an Alumni Discount of 25% on postgraduate courses. If the applicant has a talent for sports, Coventry University Sports Scholarships are also available, offering financial aid and support for those competing at a high level in university, Olympic, or Paralympic sports.
