Overview

Buckinghamshire New University’s MPH Public Health is a one-year master’s degree aimed at those working or wanting to work in public health, healthcare, or community sectors. It prepares students to address health challenges through leadership and research.

The course covers epidemiology, health promotion, environmental health, policy, and global health. Students learn how to analyse public health issues and contribute to improving population health.

Grade Requirements

  • Candidates are required to hold a 2:1 minimum degree in a relevant field, which could be in Science, Social Science, Life Sciences, Social Care, Healthcare or Allied Health. However, applicants with a 2:2 degree may still be considered if they can showcase their professional experience in the public health sector.

English Proficiency

  • International students must provide an IELTS Academic score of 6.0, with no component below 5.5, or an accepted equivalent test.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students pursuing the MPH in Public Health course at BNU is £15,550 per year.

Scholarships

BNU offers scholarships and bursaries to help international students cover tuition fees and minor expenses during their studies. The Vice-Chancellor’s International Students Scholarship provides £3,000, reducing fees to around £12,550 in the first year. The GREAT Scholarships 2025 also offer a minimum of £10,000 as a tuition fee reduction for outstanding students.

Other funding opportunities are available through the BNU Refugee, Early Payment Discount (up to £500), Asylum Seeker Scholarships, and Postgraduate Financial Support.
