Entry Requirements

  • Applicants should submit a personal statement of no more than 250 words. In this statement, they should explain why they are prepared for this course and how they plan to use what they learn in their future job or life.

Grade Requirements:

  • For the AI pathway, applicants should have at least a 2:2 honours degree in any subject or three years of work experience where they have showcased their problem-solving skill while working with different people.
  • For the fintech pathway, applicants need a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in a field related to finance, such as Accounting, Economics, or Business Management, or three years of work experience relevant to the discipline.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates who are non-native English speakers should have an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS test. They must also achieve at least 5.5 in each skill component, or present an equivalent qualification.

Cost of Study

International students who want to enrol in the Birmingham City University MSc Artificial Intelligence programme for the 2025/26 academic year will have a tuition fee of £18,600 annually. If they opt for the full-time programme with a professional placement lasting 18 months, the total cost will be £20,460. Be aware that these fees can go up by as much as 5% each year.

Scholarships

Birmingham City University (BCU) offers several scholarships to help international students with their fees. One of them is the £2,500 Women in STEAM Scholarship, which supports female students in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. 

There's also an International Scholarship that can reduce tuition fees by up to £2,000 for international undergraduate students. However, please note that this scholarship cannot be applied to exchange programmes, short courses, or conservatoire courses.
